Impact of evidence-based data on prevention of FGM/C and the laws and policies regarding the practice

Last Mile4D invites you to participate in a virtual listening session in collaboration with Global Rights for
Women and the U.S. End FGM/C Network on Wednesday, October 26, 2022,
from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. EDT.
In this session, Mahnaz M. Harrison, the Founding President of Last Mile4D, will provide an overview of
the impact of evidence-based data from girls at-risk of FGM/C in the field. Cheryl Thomas, the Executive
Director of Global Rights for Women, will discuss the importance of strong laws prohibiting all forms of
violence against women and girls, including FGM, and enforcement of these laws through a coordinated
community response. Caitlin LeMay, Director of the U.S. End FGM/C Network, will discuss the role of the
Network and the impact of the U.S. leadership on eliminating FGM/C.
The session will then open for individual feedback and discussion with participants regarding the impact
of evidence-based data on prevention of FGM/C and the laws and policies regarding the practice along
with the U.S. leadership role.
