Tatli Tanzania: School/Education Awareness Programs
Tatli Tanzania is conducting educational sessions in schools to teach students about gender violence and female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C). The campaign believes that educating both male and female children will lead to broader community awareness, as children are strong ambassadors in their communities. The main goal is to raise awareness among children to prevent gender violence, especially against women, and promote awareness of human rights, particularly the rights of women and children. The campaign will also provide legal advice, counseling to victims, and increase legal education to help prevent girls from undergoing FGM/C. Additionally, safe spaces and counseling services will be created in schools to support girls at risk and allow them to report cases of FGM/C.
