An Introduction to FGM/C for Professionals in the Public Health and Social Service Sectors

Description

The purpose of this outreach campaign is to educate public health and social service professionals on their role in addressing female genital mutilation or cutting (FGM/C). This resource includes sectoral-specific strategies to foster community-based prevention of FGM/C, identify at-risk individuals, and respond to FGM/C survivors and situations in impactful, safe, and culturally appropriate ways. The information provided in this resource is a starting point for public health and social service professionals to learn about how this practice might impact their community and how to best respond.
